Alternative House is a member of Jane Doe, Inc.

We provide emergency (up to 90 days) confidential shelter for women and their children who are fleeing an abusive situation. Alternative House can accommodate up to 8 adult women and up to 14 children at any one time. Alternative House has accommodations for individuals with disabilities, and we also provide or refer to a number of services.

We provide Domestic Violence Education Classes and Parenting Classes on-site. Advocates work with residents to find transitional housing, scattered sites apartments, or permanent affordable housing while residing in the shelter. Service plans are maintained to ensure that residents are meeting their personal goals while the shelter works to empower all residents.
