Alternative House provides community education around issues of domestic violence to any organization
or group interested in ending the cycle of violence. If you would like to have our community educators speak at

Additionally, Alternative House is always happy to have volunteers join us. We provide a
domestic violence training program in the Fall and Spring for all those wishing to become volunteers.
Volunteer opportunities are available days, nights, and weekends.
Volunteers and Interns are needed in the following capacities:
- Legal advocates
- Childcare providers during support groups
- Translation services in Spanish, Khmer, Laotian or Vietnamese
- Hotline workers
- Office help/ help with major mailings
- Help at fundraisers
- Picking up furniture donations (requires pick-up truck)
- Community educators
- Reading to children
- Assisting on field trips
- Recycling Project Fundraiser
